wow. syf was on thursday. and we did it.
GOLD WITH HONOURS! thank you so much God for carrying us so far.
when they announced the results, we were all ecstatic! we were screaming and hugging each other for a long while. and i cried too, the moment the results were released. it was tears of joy. it's the only time i've ever cried on hearing the syf results.
the last syf, when handbells got gold for syf, i was so pleased too. i remember smiling from ear to ear. i was so proud of the handbellers. we played our very best that day. it was a special moment and it meant a lot to me as the president then.
still this time, the feeling was different. you should hear the story of ac guitar. we stated out with such humble beginnings - without a coach, without a practice room or even storage room, and most of us only started learning guitar last year. we were in a terrible state when mr choo came as our new instuctor last october. the teachers even questioned our intention of going for syf. but we were adamant about going for syf. slowly, through the december camp, and many many practices, we improved. and we've come so far. i guess that's why the feeling was so different from previous syfs. by God's grace we made it, against all odds. ac guitar's journey has been a bittersweet one, and our gold with honours is really the icing on top of the cake.
i cannot imagine being in any other cca. coming into ac last year, i had a few ccas in mind, but slowly, God showed me where i was meant to be. music is such a big part of my life. i've been in a music cca since p5, and through this God has honed my musical ability. i've had the opportunities to learn to use so many instuments. from my voice, to handbells and guitar!
i am so honoured to be part of ac guitar. i've learnt so much from this incredible bunch of people. i will always cherish the beautiful friendships that have been forged. and the journey won't end here.
